威雅公学夏校短篇故事竞赛启动
威雅公学夏校短篇故事竞赛于上周六的英语增益课堂上正式启动，此次竞赛的主题为“旅程”。这周英语课程的目标是确保学生具备基础的知识和技能，因为如果没有这些基本的知识和技能，他们将很难在高阶英语中取得更高的分数。夏校短篇故事竞赛的优胜者将获得校服券、证书、学校微信刊登等多重奖励。
竞赛中，学生们通过角色扮演来规划旅程，在旅途中，他们必须对各种生存选择并做出计划决定。学生们非常积极地创作着他们的故事，并获得了各种各样的资源来帮助他们。完成的参赛作品将于8月16日星期五由威雅公学的高级领导小组进行评审。这将是一场十分激烈的竞赛，让我们一起拭目以待。
夏校周末活动——《狮子王》、卡丁车体验、火锅大餐
夏校每周的学术学习既紧张又忙碌，整整一周，学生们从早上7点45分到晚上9点都在充实地学习。周六上午，他们还会参加学术增益课程。在如此繁忙学习节奏下，周末的适当放松是十分重要的。考虑到这一点，学校安排夏校的学生们在周六晚上观看了广受好评的热映电影《狮子王》。周日，学生们体验了卡丁车，并且获得了一小段自由活动时间，最后大家一起享用了火锅大餐！这对于刚刚结束夏校第一周的学生来说真是最佳的庆祝方式！
Summer School Short Story Competition Opens
The Summer School Short Story Competition opened in English Enrichment on Saturday with the theme of going on a journey. English this week has been about securing a foundation of skills and knowledge without which advanced scores in higher level English simply cannot be attained. The Summer School Short Story Competition will see the winner pick up school uniform vouchers, a certificate, publication on wechat and a variety of other prizes.
Pupils began their competition by plotting out the journey through a role play where they had to make planning decisions on a variety of choices for survival while on a journey. Pupils are highly motivated to continue with their stories and have been provided with a variety of resources to do this. The completed entries will be judged on Friday 16th August by a team of senior leaders at WAISCZ. Competition will be intense.
Summer School Weekend Activities - Lion King, Go Karting and Hot Pot
The Summer School’s academic week is very busy and rigorous with classes running from 7.45am to 9pm and then academic enrichment on Saturday mornings. With such a schedule it is essential that pupils have time to relax at the weekends. With this in mind, pupils watched the acclaimed movie the Lion King on Saturday night. Then on Sunday headed to Go-Karting, then some free time for the pupils before a Hot Pot meal. A great way to end a fantastic opening week.
